dc.description.abstract | Jeff Hearn, the founder of Critical Studies on Men and Masculinities has been conducting numerous researches on the subjects of gender and sexuality, sociology of organizations, violence, globalization, transnationality and masculinities. He has been working on these subjects for more than 40 years and he analyzed many concepts and re-invented many more. When we go through his books, articles, chapters and projects we have come across the concept of “intersectionality” in many occasions (Hearn&Hein 2015; Hearn 2014; Hearn 2011) In this review we would like to focus on two works of Hearn in regard for two of his intersectional concepts, which we found mind opening. One is a book chapter Male Bodies, Masculine Bodies and Men’s Bodies: The Need for a Concept of Gex from Routledge Handbook of Body Studies, edited by Bryan S. Turner in 2012 and the other one is an article, Transnational Reflexions on Transnational Research on Men, Boy and Gender Relations published in NORMA in 2015. We are planning to follow a path with three steps. In the first and the second steps, we will try to acknowledge the key points of these two works, concentrating namely on his concepts of gex and transnationality and in the third step, we will focus on their interference, through intersectionality. | en_US |
