Abstract
The development of capsular contracture in the augmented breast is one of the most difficult problems for plastic surgeons. A single primary cause of capsular contracture has not been identified. Hematoma, infection, implant rupture, and silicone migration may cause capsular contracture. The type of implant and the placement of implants in the submuscular of subglandular osition have a direct bearing on the incidence of contracture.
