Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Orta Yıllar Programı (Middle Years Programme, MYP) eğitim programında Türkçe derslerinde okutulan ortak öykü kitaplarından biri olan Küçük Prens kitabını sistem düşüncesi araçları ile analiz etmektir. 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf seviyesinde ortak okutulan tek öykü kitabı olan Küçük Prens, sistem düşüncesi araçları ile incelenerek metin analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın yöntemi nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi modelidir. Küçük Prens kitabının sistem düşüncesi araçları ile analiz edilerek “ESD Kitap Geliştirme ve Değerlendirme Aracı” ile sistem düşüncesi yaklaşımına uygunluk derecesi değerlendirilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın bir diğer amacı ise, sistem düşüncesi ile öykü kitabı incelemenin Uluslararası Bakalorya (IB) Programı’na olan etkisini araştırmaktır. Sistem düşüncesi araçlarıyla bir öykü kitabı incelemenin IB Öğrenen Profili açısından öğrencilere etkisi ve IB’nin Öğretim ve Öğrenime Yaklaşımları ile hazırlanan ders içeriğine uygunluğu sorgulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin Küçük Prens kitabını sistem düşüncesi araçları ile incelemelerinin IB öğrenen profilinde yer alan becerileri kullanmalarına olumlu bir etkisi olacağı ve IB Öğretim ve Yaklaşımlarını destekler nitelikte olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu öykü kitabının sistem düşüncesi araçları göz önüne alınarak yazılmadığı ancak öğrencilerin üst düzey düşünme becerilerini kullanarak eleştirel ve yaratıcı okuma ve yazma yaparak sistem düşüncesi araçlarını kullanabilecekleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to analyze The Little Prince, which is one of the common story books taught in Turkish lessons in Middle Years Programme (MYP), with systems thinking tools. The Little Prince, which is one of the story books taught at 5th, 6th and 7th grade levels, was examined with the tools of systems thinking in education and text analysis was made. In this study, content analysis model which is one of the qualitative research methods and System Thinking Assessment Scale for Storybooks (STASS) have been used. Systems thinking tools are used for data analysis. In this research, the effect of examining a storybook with systems thinking approach in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme was explored. The effect of examining a storybook with systems thinking tools on students in terms of the IB learner profile and its suitability to the course content prepared with IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning were questioned. As a result of the research, it is thought that the examination of The Little Prince with systems thinking tools will have a positive effect on students’ use of the skills in the IB Learner Profile and will support the IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning. Also it was concluded that this storybook was not written considering the tools of systems thinking, but that the students could use the tools of systems thinking by reading and writing critically and creatively by using their high-level thinking skills.
