dc.description.abstractFirst aid is the important treatment of a patient and victim before a qualified medical care is provided. The first help is maintaining to save the life of the patient, prevent additional trauma, eliminate shock and relieve the pain. In some conditions (such as severe bleeding or asphyxia) help must be given immediately. In some situations, delayed help can cost the victim life. However, with most injuries and other emergency conditions, it is possible to begin to provide assistance without threatening the life of the victim or patient, which are necessary to find a member of the team that has first aid skills or to select the necessary medical supplies and equipment. When a ship is in port, or near to port where hospital and other medical attention are available, the first aid should be provided by workers in theship until the hospital member arrives. At sea, in the absence of these facilities, trained ship’s officers are required to provide a victim with all necessary treatment. The content of my presentation is about first aid requirements for the safe and efficient immediate treatment of casualties before they are transported to the ship’s hospital or to a cabin for any necessary definitive treatment. However, anyone on a board may find a casualty and every seaman should know three basic life-saving actions to be given immediately while waiting for trained help to arrive. Reassurance and quick and effective attention to injuries and appropriate treatment of an injured person will relieve his condition.en_US
dc.description.abstractİlk yardım, nitelikli bir kişiden önce hasta ve yaralıya yapılan, tıbbi bakım sağlayan tedavidir. İlk yardım hastanın hayatını kurtarmak, oluşabilecek travmaları önlemek, şoku gidermek ve ağrıyı azaltmaktır. Bazı durumlarda (şiddetli kanama ve asfiksi gibi) hemen yardım edilmelidir. Çünkü geciken yardım hastanın hayatına mal olabilir. Bununla birlikte çoğu yaralanma ve diğer acil durumlarda, ilk yardım becerilerine sahip ekibin bir üyesini bularak veya gerekli tıbbi malzeme ve ekipmanı seçerek yaralının ya da hastanın yaşamını tehdit etmeden yardıma başlanmalıdır. Bir gemi limanda ya da hastane ve diğer tıbbi yardımların bulunduğu limana yakınsa ilk yardım, sağlık çalışanı gelene kadar gemideki işçiler tarafından yapılır. Denizde bu tesislerin yokluğunda, ilk yardım eğitimi almış subaylar, yaralıya gerekli tüm yardımı yapmalıdır.
