dc.description.abstractThis case study aimed at investigating the online reading lessons by analyzing the reading materials and the teachers’ strategies in online education by getting feedback with the help of interviews to provide opportunity to improve. It is believed that with the findings from this study, it would be helpful for teachers to design their lessons to cater for similar needs of the teachers, and adapt existing materials, the coursebook in this context or develop new ideas and practices. In order to answer the research questions of the study, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 12 instructors working at the Preparatory School of Maltepe University. Teachers’ perceptions on reading skills and strategy instruction in online teaching were analyzed qualitatively. The findings of the study revealed that both in online teaching and face-to-face teaching reading skills and strategies can be efficiently and effectively taught to help language learners to comprehend the reading texts better. This study also indicated that an effective online reading instruction requires some factors including the role of a teacher as a facilitator, student motivation and good reading material.en_US
dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı, Covid-19 Pandemi döneminde eğitimin çevrimiçi gerçekleşmesiyle beraber, daha önce sınıf içi yürütülen Okuma Derslerinin öğretmenler tarafından nasıl yürütüldüğünü, okuma beceri ve stratejilerinin nasıl kazandırıldığını araştırmaya yöneliktir. Bu çalışmayı yürütebilmek için Maltepe Üniversitesi Hazırlık Okulu Öğretim Görevlilerinden araştırmaya katılan 12 kişinin görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Araştırma yöntemi olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme türü kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler niteliksel analizler ile değerlendirilmiştir. Öğretmen görüşlerine göre çevrimiçi okuma sınıflarının ve sınıf içi okuma sınıflarının kıyaslanması ve ne tür iyileştirmelerle en iyi şekilde faydalanılabileceği, hangi okuma stratejilerinin öğretiminin öğrenci için daha yararlı olacağı üzerine de öğretmen görüşleri alınmıştır. Etkin bir Okuma Sınıfının kaçınılmazı olan unsurlar; strateji eğitimi, ders materyali ve öğrenci işbirlikçiliği öğretmen görüşlerine dayandırılarak araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda Okuma Derslerinin gerek Çevrimiçi gerek Sınıf içi olsun, etkin bir şekilde yürütülebileceği ve okuma becerilerinin ve stratejilerinin öğrenciye kazandırılabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.en_US
