Abstract
Dünya popülasyonunda yaşlı nüfusun artışı farklı ve yeni sağlık problemlerini de beraberinde getirmiştir. Demans yani zihinsel yeteneklerin kişinin günlük yaşam aktivitelerinde belirgin bir güçlüğe neden olabilecek düzeyde bozulması, uzayan insan ömrü ile görülme sıklığı artan nörolojik hastalıklardandır. Alzheimer Hastalığı (AH) da demansın klinikte en sık görülen tipidir. Bu makalede; AH semptomları, klinik evreleri ve hastalığın kognitif durum değerlendirmesinde uygulanan tanısal testler anlatılmıştır.
The increase in the elderly population has brought new and different health problems. Dementia means severe impairment in mental abilities and as such it causes degredation in daily living activities. As the life expectancy increases, risk of dementia increases as well. Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia in the clinics. In this article; symptoms, clinical stages of the disease, and the diagnostic tests are discribed.
