Özet
Bu araştırmada, pandemi döneminde ilkokul eğitimine devam eden öğrenci velilerinin uzaktan eğitim uygulamalarında yaşadıkları sorunların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada, betimsel tarama yöntemlerinden birisi olan genel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın araştırma grubunu İstanbul ili Pendik, Tuzla ve Kartal ilçelerinde bulunan ilkokullarda 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 321 öğrenci velisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen anket formundan yararlanılmıştır. Anket formunun birinci bölümünde kişisel özellikleri belirlemeye yönelik sorular yer almaktadır. İkinci bölümde ise uzaktan eğitim sürecinde velilerin yaşadıkları sorunları tespit edebilmek maksadıyla hazırlanan sorular bulunmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında elde edilen veriler frekans dağılımları ve yüzdeleri hesaplanarak çözümlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda velilerin pandemi sürecinde uzaktan eğitim uygulamalarında “ara sıra/orta seviyede” sorunlar yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanında velilerin uzaktan eğitime yönelik olumlu düşüncelerinin düşük seviyede olduğu belirlenmiştir. Velilerin yaşadıkları sorun alanlarının seviyelerine göre “çocuğun olumsuz etkilenmesi”, “teknik sorunlar” ve “yaşamsal sorunlar” olarak sıralandığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu alanlarda en sık karşılaşılan sorunların ise “çocuğun elektronik cihazların başında çok fazla zaman geçirmesi”, “teknik cihazların (bilgisayar/tablet vb.) ekonomik yük getirmesi” ve “hayat düzeninin bozulması” olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu kapsamda velilerin dijital ebeveynlik konusunda bilinçlenmeleri, çocuklarına rol model olmaları ve birlikte kaliteli vakit geçirmeye özen göstermeleri önerilmektedir. Bunun yanında, gelecekte yaşanabilecek pandemi benzeri süreçlerde “aşikar” olan bu sorunların çözümüne yönelik önleyici tedbirlerin diğer paydaşlar tarafından alınmasının uygun olacağı değerlendirilmektedir.
In this study, it is aimed to examine the problems experienced by the parents of students who continue their primary school education during the pandemic period in distance education applications. The general screening model, which is one of the descriptive screening methods, was used in the research. The research group of the study consists of 321 parents of students studying in primary schools in Pendik, Tuzla and Kartal districts of Istanbul in the 2020-2021 academic year. A questionnaire form developed by the researcher was used as a data collection tool in the study. The first part of the questionnaire consists of a personal information questions. In the second part, there are questions prepared to determine the problems experienced by the parents during the distance education process. The data obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed by calculating frequency distributions and percentages. As a result of the study, it was determined that the parents experienced "occasionally / moderately" problems in distance education applications during the pandemic process. In addition, it was determined that the positive thoughts of parents towards distance education were at a low level. It has been determined that the problem areas experienced by the parents are listed as “negatively affecting the child”, “technical problems” and “vital problems” according to the level of their problems. The most common problems in these areas were determined as “child's spending too much time in front of electronic devices”, “the economic burden of technical devices (computer / tablet, etc.)” and “the disruption of life order”. In this context, it is recommended that parents become aware of digital parenting, be role models for their children and take care to spend quality time together. In addition, it is considered that it would be appropriate for the other stakeholders to take preventive measures for the solution of these problems, which are "obvious" in future pandemic-like processes.
