dc.description.abstractThe Accessible lcon project star|ed in 2009 when Sarah Hendren and Dr. Brian Glenney from the Gordon College in Massachusetts, USA started a dialog about how images can shape our perception of reality, ln the center ot thıs discussion was the ln|ernational Symbol of Access, commonly known and the "wheelchair sign". The old icon represented a sort ot robotic and passive person, incapable of acting as an independent human being, and this is how it made socie|y look at these people. So, Sarah and Brian started to design a new icon, which was first used in a guerrilla art project but soon sparked a lot of curiosity and interest...en_US
