dc.description.abstractIn this study, we primarily addressed the historical development of the Turkish higher education system. Later, we discussed the changes and developments in the higher education area in Turkey over the last eighty-four years. In this context, we indicated the breakthroughs in the higher education area, especially in the last fifteen years, and denoted the current situation and performance of the higher education system. We evaluated the place of the Turkish higher education system in the world with respect to the global trends and quantitative growth in Turkish higher education system.en_US
