Abstract
Bu araştırma Türkiye'den İngiltere'ye Ankara Anlaşması kapsamında göç eden bireylerin göç etme sebeplerini öğrenmek, karşılaştıkları sosyal ve ekonomik zorlukları analiz etmek ve uyum süreçlerini anlamak amacıyla yapılmış bir çalışmadır. Karma yöntem araştırma modeli kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen çalışma hem nitel hem de nicel verilerin bir arada değerlendirildiği sonuçları ortaya koymaktadır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre göç eden bireylerin kararlarını şekillendiren temel motivasyonlar siyasi belirsizlik, özgürlük kaygısı ve ekonomik faktörlerdir. Katılımcılar, iş yaşamlarındaki yabancılaşma ve belirsizlik konularının göç kararını etkileyici unsurlardan olduğunu belirtmiştir. İngiltere’ye göç eden katılımcıların dil bariyeri ve kültürel farklılıklar nedeniyle uyum süreçlerinde zorlandığı gözlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, İngiltere’deki yaşamlarını daha istikrarlı ve huzurlu olarak tanımlamışlardır. Ankara Anlaşması’nın sunduğu iş kurma fırsatlarının ve bireylerin çocuklarına daha iyi bir gelecek sağlama motivasyonlarının, İngiltere'ye uyum sağlama çabalarını desteklediği görülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonuçları, bireylerin göç kararlarının yalnızca ekonomik değil, aynı zamanda sosyal ve siyasi faktörlerle de şekillendiğini göstermektedir.
This research aims to understand the reasons behind individuals migrating from Turkey to the UK under the Ankara Agreement, analysing the social and economic challenges they face and their adaptation processes. Conducted with a mixed-methods approach, the study combines both qualitative and quantitative data. According to the findings, the primary motivations shaping migrants' decisions are political uncertainty, concerns about freedom, and economic factors. Participants mentioned alienation and uncertainty in their work lives as influential factors in their decision to migrate. Migrants faced challenges in adapting due to language barriers and cultural differences but described their lives in the UK as more stable and peaceful. The job creation opportunities provided by the Ankara Agreement and the motivation to secure a better future for their children supported migrants' efforts to adapt to life in the UK. The results demonstrate that migration decisions are shaped not only by economic but also social and political factors.
