dc.description.abstractIn this paper, a genetic algorithm based energy efficient clustering (GABEEC) is proposed to optimize the lifetime of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The proposed method generates energy efficient clusters by considering several aspects of the network. GABEEC generates energy efficient clusters, where cluster heads are changed dynamically. Further, GABEEC is improved by using multihop communication between cluster heads. ©2013 International Information Institute.en_US
