dc.description.abstractThis study emphasizes the importance of technology in education. The investigation took place during the Covid-19 pandemic in Turkey and was performed through a thorough meta-analysis methodology to investigate 20 related articles issued during the last 10 years. The thesis aimed at answering three questions about Turkish EFL teachers’ and candidate-teachers’ perceptions of technology in teaching, in addition to their technology implementation effectiveness. Also, some of the collected articles provided findings about the impact of gender on technology, the attitude of technology implementation as well as the competence of technology use in English teaching in Turkey. The findings of the research confirm that the majority of English as a foreign language Turkish teachers have a positive perception of deploying technology in their classrooms. It also showed that these teachers have a high level of competence and effectiveness of technology implementation. Finally, the collected data from the chosen articles confirmed that there is little or no significant difference between male and female teachers in regard to their perception of technology or their digital literacy competence.en_US
dc.description.abstractBu çalışma teknolojinin günlük hayatımızdaki, özellikle de eğitimdeki önemini vurgulamaktadır. Araştırma Türkiye'de Covid-19 pandemisi sırasında yürütülmüş ve son 10 yılda yayımlanan 20 ilgili makaleyi araştırmak için kapsamlı bir meta-analiz metodolojisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu makale; yabancı dil olarak İngilizce öğreten Türk öğretmenlerinin ve öğretmen adaylarının teknolojiyi uygulama yetkinliği ve onların eğitimde teknoloji kullanımı hakkında düşünceleri ile ilgili üç soruyu yanıtlamayı amaçlamıştır. Son olarak, toplanan makalelerden bazıları, cinsiyetin teknoloji üzerindeki etkisi, teknolojiyi uygulama tutumu ve Türkiye'de İngilizce öğretiminde teknoloji kullanımının yeterliliği hakkında bulgular sunmuştur. Araştırmanın bulguları, yabancı dil olarak İngilizce öğreten Türk öğretmenlerinin çoğunluğunun teknolojiyi sınıflarında kullanma konusunda olumlu bir algıya sahip olduğunu doğrulamaktadır. Bu, ayrıca göstermektedir ki bu öğretmenler teknolojiyi mesleklerinde uygulamada yüksek düzeyde yetkindir. Son olarak, seçilen makalelerden toplanan veriler, teknoloji algıları veya dijital okuryazarlık yeterlilikleri açısından erkek ve kadın öğretmenler arasında çok az fark olduğunu ya da önemli bir fark olmadığını doğruladıen_US
