Özet

Today, private and government agencies collect many personal data about individuals everyday. Personal data; means any kind of information about the person whose identity is specificor identifiable. Technology has evolved to allow individuals and institutions to share anddisseminate information worldwide. Personal Data Protection is a right of individuals that needto be protected against unauthorized use of their data by other individuals or organizations. Thisright has been taken under protection by amendment of Article 20 of the Constitution. Inaddition, amendments were made to some other laws and finally, on 24 March 2016, the LawNo. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data was adopted in the Turkish Grand NationalAssembly. The law, regulates the procedures and principles to be followed by the obligationsof natural and legal persons, and imposes important provisions on all companies that process,carry or store personal data. One of the sectors affected by the law is logistics. In this study, thenational and international legal regulations and the Law No. 6698 which are related to theprotection of personal data were examined. In the logistics sector, the effects of this law onhuman resources practices, difficulties, causes and consequences were investigated with ascreening approach and in-depth interview methods. In the sector, a study on this subject hasnot been found, in this respect it is thought that it will contribute to the literature and the sector.
