Özet
Araştırma, Türk bankacılığının tarihsel gelişimini ve neden reel sektöreyeterince destek olamadığını incelemektedir. Çalışma, bankacılığımızın tarihselgelişimi çeşitli bölümlere ayırdıktan sonra; sistemdeki yapısal eksikliklerin enazından bir bölümünün bu dönemlere dayandığına işaret etmekte ve akabinde içindebulunduğumuz dönemi de kapsayan bir yakın geçmiş değerlendirmesi yapmaktadır.Bahsi geçen son dönemde olumsuz içsel sebeplerin yanı sıra uluslararası finansalkrizler başta olmak üzere bazı dışsal unsurların varlığından da söz edilmektedir.Gelişimin yeterliliğini inceleyebilmek için Avrupa Birliği bankacılığına örnekteşkil eden ülkelerin bankacılık sistemlerine genel bir bakış, bu ülkelerin kendi reelsektörlerine verdiği destek rakamlar ile belirtilmiş; ve bu rakamların ülkemiz ilekıyaslanması çalışma içinde yer almıştır.Ülkemiz bankacılık sektörünün reel sektöre destek olamayışının tarihselkökenleri olan içsel ve sektöre bağlı olmayan dışsal sebeplere dayandığı hipoteziekonometrik bir model ile test edilmiş ve sonucun hipotezi destekler nitelikte olduğugörülmüştür. Nihai olarak bahsi geçen sektörün daha iyi işleyişi için çözüm önerilerikapsamında Basel II önergesine değinilmiştir.
Our work tries to investigate the subject of "The historical development ofTurkish banking system and its support to the real sector" After dividing bankinghistory into the parts, our work notifies that some of the major missing points ofexisting system have roots in these historical times. Having talked also about the lastdecades, we notify that in the near past banking sector had also some externalnegative factor as well as internals one.To make a comparison between banking sectors the work will talk aboutEuropean banking by giving examples of some Union countries and we comparerelated number with our country as well.Turkish banking system can not support real sectors; and the reasons liesmainly on the area out of finance is our hypothesis and it is tested in our work withan econometric model resuming that the model is reasonable. At the end we arguethat as a solution banking sector should seriously consider Basel II decisions.
