dc.description.abstractPosthümanizm, bir yandan geçmişin birikimini bugünün koşullarında yeniden değerlendiren, bir yandan da geleceğe uzanan olası evrensel tasarıları tartışma konusu yapan bir yaklaşımlar bütünüdür. Dolayısıyla posthümanizm ile ilgili yapılacak tartışmalar belli bir tarihsel bakış açısını gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu bilinçten yola çıkan tez, posthümanist düşünceyi belli bir tarihsel zeminden hareketle ele almıştır. Tezin birinci bölümünde ilk olarak posthümanizmin kuramsal çerçevesi ile insanlık ve doğayla ilgili çoklu bakış açıları açıklanarak tartışılmıştır. Sonrasında ise transhümanizmin inançla ve bilimsel zihniyetle olan tarihsel bağlarına değinilmiştir. Tarihsel analiz, Antik Yunan'dan günümüze kadar değişen iyi yaşam düşüncesini ve evren kavrayışlarını da genel hatlarıyla görmemize olanak tanımıştır. İkinci bölümde gelecekteki olası bir beden-bedensizleşme düşüncesi ile bugünün tüketim toplumundaki beden kavrayışı kısaca ele alınmıştır. Bedenin günümüzde önem kazandığıyla ilgili bir düşünceler var olsa da bunun transhmanizme benzer şekilde bir kendini aşma eğilimi olduğu belirtilmektedir. Bugünkü beden algısıyla gelecekteki olası bedensizleşmeye değinilmesinin, film çözümlemelerindeki beden algısının mantıksal zeminini daha iyi anlamamıza yarayacağı düşünülmüştür. Araştırma kısmında transhümanizmin popüler Amerikan bilimkurgu sinemasındaki yansımaları örnek film çözümlemeleri aracılığıyla tartışılmıştır. Bilimkurgu sinemasının gelecekçi özelliği transhümanist idealler ile ilgili yorum yapılmasına olanak tanımıştır. Film çözümlemelerinin odak noktası, tezin kapsamına uygun bir şekilde transhümanist düşünce ve iddiaların filmlerde ele alınışı, inançsal göndermelerin ve benzerliklerin araştırılması ve bunların olası toplumsal etkileridir.en_US
dc.description.abstractPosthumanism is the total of approaches that re-evaluate the past within the context of the current conditions on the one hand and discuss the probable developments of humanity extending to the future, on the other. Therefore, debates on posthumanism necessitate a definite retrospective vantage point. The presented thesis, grounded on this proposal, attempts to evaluate posthumanism on a historical context. In the first chapter of the thesis, the theoretical framework of posthumanism and the multiple facets of its relationship with humanity and nature have been outlined and discussed. After that, the historical ties of transhumanism with faith and scientific thinking have been covered. Historical analysis has enabled us to see the outlines of the changes in the thoughts on better living and in the concept of the universe since the Ancient Greece until our day. In the second chapter of the thesis, the concept of the body in the current consumer society has been briefly discussed primarily with respect to the possible future considerations of the body and disembodiment. Although there are arguments for a current increase in the importance of the body, it has also been argued that this trend is a kind of transcend itself, as expressed by transhumanism. It has been thought that discussion of the body perception of today and the possible disembodiment of the future would benefit us in better understanding of the logical bases of the body perception in the film analyses. In the chapter on research, reflections of transhumanism on popular American science fiction films have been discussed through examples of film analyses. The futuristic character of the science fiction film has enabled commenting in relation to transhumanist ideals. Focal point of the film analyses consists of discussing, within the scope of the thesis, the handling by the films of the transhumanist thoughts and claims, researching on the referrals to faith and their similarities, and the effects of these on the public.en_US
