Özet

I would like to welcome the keynote speakers, presenters and attendees of the 2nd International Congress on Business and Marketing 2019 (ICBM’19). Maltepe University was founded in 1997 and today it is an internationally recognized University with 9 faculties, 3 graduate schools, 2 schools and a vocational school. Our motto is “Free in thought, modern in education, universal in science.” We all share the same idea at the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences. This is also the second International Congress executed by Maltepe University, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences. The idea of this Congress was developed in August 2018 after visiting Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics in Ukraine. This year Karazin University has also become a partner. We, academics of Maltepe University, understand great importance of cooperation between universities. Because of this, we decided to implement collaboration between several universities internationally. Information age accelerated the changes in technology and business. Nowadays this means that we are facing many fast and interesting developments occurring in a very short time span. Digitalization, innovation and transformation are this year’s main themes. So, we need to reexamine ourselves as academicians, our scientific work, and collaborate more in the global arena. The purpose of ICBM’19 is to give vision and impulse to this issue and to help in defining directions and options which should be proposed for the discussion at the highest academic level. Perhaps, the most important aspect of the Congresses is that it is the place where individuals, communities and countries can share with each other new business and marketing approaches and knowledge. This means understanding each other better.
