Özet
Mindanao, the supra-region in the southern part of the PhiIippines has often been misrepresented in its portrayal by national media outfits, most of them if not all based in the National Capital Region. A Moro liberation group - formerly pushing for secession - had been waging its struggle for around four decades already. This group, however, is mostly active only in one region but national media seldom made distinctions when they refer to 'Mindanao.' This has caused the image of Mindanao to be that of wars and violence...
