dc.description.abstractAmaç: İnsanlar güncel olayları kitle iletişim araçları sayesinde öğrenir ve takip ederler. Yazılı kitle iletişim araçlarından olan günlük gazeteler toplumun bilgilendirilmelerinde en önemli kaynaklardan biridir. Bu araştırma, hemşirelik ile ilgili yazılı basında yer alan haberlerin incelenmesi amacı ile retrospektif olarak planlanmıştır. Yöntem: Retrospektif, tanımlayıcı tipte olan bu araştırmada, 01 Ocak- 31 Aralık 2006 tarihleri arasında arşivine internet aracılığı ile 7 gazetede “hemşirelik” anahtar kelimesi ile girilen haberler değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma sonucunda 7 gazetede hemşirelik ile ilgili toplam 103 habere ulaşılmış ve incelenmiştir. İncelenen haberlerin %33,01’inin köşe yazısı/makale şeklinde yer aldığı, %35,92’sinin duygu tonunun olumsuz olduğu, %33,99’unun haber ajansı/muhabir kaynaklı olduğu, %49,54’ünün bilimsel olmadığı, %60,19’unun resimli olmadığı ve resimli olanların %65,85’inin resminin konu ile ilgili olduğu saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik ile ilgili haberlerin konu dağılımlarına bakıldığında ise; %13,60’ının hemşirelik yasası, %9,70’inin hemşirelik bakımı, %5,83’ünün hemşirelik araştırmaları, %17,48’inin hemşirelerin çalışma koşulları, %3,88’inin hemşirelerin tükenmişlik, stres, ve şiddet gibi problemleri, %47,57’sinin ise hemşirelerin sosyal-sanatsal faaliyetleri, aile yaşantıları, hemşirelik eğitimi ve hemşirelik okulları gibi diğer konuları içerdiği saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Yazılı kitle iletişim araçlarından olan gazetelerde hemşirelik ile ilgili haberlere yeterince yer verilmediği, yayınlanan haberlerin ise çoğunluğunun olumsuz duygu tonunda yer aldığı ve haberlerin hemşireliğin bilimsel yönünü yansıtmadığı belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar bağlamında; toplumun geniş bir kesimine hızlı ulaşabilen gazetelerde mesleki, bilimsel, sanatsal anlamda hemşireliği daha iyi tanıtabilecek planlama ve uygulamaların yapılması gerekmektediren_US
dc.description.abstractAim: This research was planned retrospectively in order to analyze news about nursing communicated on publications and to investigate how nursing take place in published news in Turkey. Background: In Turkey, although the profession of nursing played significant role within health team, it does get what it deserves. News related to nursing addressed to the public by media is of vital importance in influencing public about understanding and perceiving nursing service. Method: In this retrospective, descriptive study, searching with a key word “nursing” from historical archives online, news related to nursing were accessed on 7 daily newspapers dated January 1–31st December 2006. Findings: At the end of the study, totally 103 news regarding nursing were collected from 7 newspapers and evaluated. It was determined that 33,01% of news were published like feature articles, 35,92% were invoked negative impression, 49,54% were not scientific, 60,19% did not have any picture and 65,85 % of those with pictures were related to the subject. Subjects of the news related to nursing are ranged from nursing law (13,60%), nursing care (9,70%), nursing studies (5,83%), work conditions of nurses (17,48%), problems of nurses such as stress, fatigue and violence (3,88%) to other issues such as nurses’ social-artistic activities, family living, nursing training, nursing schools (47,57%). Conclusions: It was concluded that newspapers did not give enough place to news regarding nursing, that published news were negative impression, and that news did not reflect scientific side of the nursing.en_US
