dc.description.abstractSinema, medya ve diğer iletişim araçları toplum üzerinde rıza imalatının sağlanması için hükümetler ve sermaye sahipleri tarafından sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. İlk gelişen formları ile haber verme ve bilgi yayma amacı ile kullanılan kitle iletişim amaçları, zamanla, yönetici ve sermaye sahiplerinin ideoloji yayma ve halkın normalde rıza göstermeyeceği uygulamaları bir dirençle karşılaşmadan uygulama yollarından biri olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, medyanın bu amaç ile kullanımına evrimi açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmaya konu edilen “They Live” filmi, rıza imalatı bağlamında en simgesel filmlerden biridir. Medyanın rıza imalatına dair toplumsal etkisini bilimkurgu öğeleri kullanarak anlatan, Hollywood sinemasında pek de görülmeyen eleştirellikte bir filmdir. Bu çalışmada, John Carpenter’ın ikonik eserlerinden “They Live” filmi ve film afişleri, göstergebilim araçları kullanılarak, rıza imalatı üzerine analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractCinema as a form of media and mass communication, is frequently used by governments and capital owners to engineering of consent on the community. The purpose of mass communication, was to privde news and information in society in its first evolving forms, then, the governments and owners of the capital started to use it to spread their ideology and apply the practices that the public would not normally be given consent, without facing resistance. In this study, the evolution of media is tried to be explained. “They Live” is one of the most iconic films in the context of production of consent. It is a authority-criticizing film that is not frequently seen in Hollywood cinema. It uses science-fiction elements to deliver its message on consent engineering. In this study, John Carpenter's iconic film and its posters are tried to be analyzed on the production of consent by using semiotics tools.en_US
