dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı; otistik çocuğu olan annelerin algıladığı sosyal destek düzeyi ile umutsuzluk düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, araştırmada; annelerin algıladığı sosyal destek (aile desteği, arkadaş desteği, özel kişi desteği) ile umutsuzluk (gelecekle ilgili duygu, motivasyon kaybı, gelecekle ilgili beklenti) düzeyi arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi, İstanbul ilinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na (MEB) bağlı çeşitli özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon kurumlarında özel eğitim almakta olan 100 otistik çocuğun annesinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada otistik çocuğu olan annelerin sosyodemografik bilgilerini alabilmek üzere, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Annelerin algıladıkları sosyal destek düzeyi Zimet ve arkadaşlarının geliştirdiği, Eker ve Arkar’ın (1995) Türkçe’ye uyarladığı Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği (MSPSS) ile ölçülmüştür. Annelerin umutsuzluk düzeyi, Seber’in (1991) Türkçe’ye uyarladığı Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, otistik çocuğu olan annelerin algıladığı sosyal destek düzeyi ve alt ölçekleri ile umutsuzluk düzeyi ve alt ölçekleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Yapılan istatistiksel analizlerle, annelerin algıladığı sosyal destek arttıkça umutsuzluk düzeylerinin azalmakta olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarıyla elde edilen bulguların literatürle tutarlılığı ve sonuçlar üzerinde etkili olabilecek diğer değişkenler tartışılmış ve çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur. en_US
dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between social support perception level and hopelessness level of mothers who have children with autism. In accordance with this purpose, the relationship between social support perception level ( family support, friend support, private person support) and hopelessness level (feeling about the future, loss of motivation, expectation about the future) has been examined within this research. The sample of the research consists of 100 mothers with autistic children who are receiving a special education in various private education and rehabilitation centers which are subsidiary of Ministry of Education (MOE) within the boundaries of the city of İstanbul. A “Sociodemographic Information Form”, developed by the researcher, has been used so as to receive personal information of mothers who have autistic children. The perception of social support of mothers is evaluated through the use of Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support ( MSPSS) that has been improved by Zimet and his/her collegues and adapted into Turkish by Eker and Arkar (1995). Beck Hopelessness Scale, adapted into Turkish by Seber (1991), has been used to determine the hopelessness levels of mothers who have children with autism. As a result of the research, significant relations between social support level perceived by mothers with autistic children and their subscales have been determined along with significant relations between the level of hopelessness they feel and their subscales. Throughout the statistical analysis, it has been found out that as the level of mothers’ perceived social support increases, the level of hopelessness they feel decreases. The consistency of the findings revealed through the research with the literature and other variables that are likely to influence the results have been debated and several suggestions have been presented.en_US
