Özet
Bu araştırma erkek homoseksüel ve heteroseksüellerde depresyon ve suçluluk-utanç düzeylerinin cinsiyet rolüne göre karşılaştırılması amaçlanarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi 75 (%50)’i erkek homoseksüel, 75 (%50)’i erkek heteroseksüel olmak üzere toplam 150 katılımcıdan oluşmuştur. Homoseksüel grubun yaş ortalaması 26.4 (ss:6.16), heteroseksüel grubun yaş ortalaması ise 25.7 (ss: 4.84 )’dir. Araştırmanın verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Bem Cinsiyet Rolü Envanteri Beck Depresyon Ölçeği ve Suçluluk-Utanç Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda erkek homoseksüellerin depresyon ve utanç düzeyleri erkek heteroseksüellerden, anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Cinsel yönelim ve cinsiyet rolünün kişilerin depresyon ve utanç düzeyleri üzerindeki ortak etkisinin anlamlı olmadığı gözlenmiştir. Ancak her iki grupta androjen cinsiyet rolüne sahip bireylerin yüksek düzeyde suçluluk duygularına sahip olduğu saptanmıştır.
The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship among level of depression, guilt-shame experiences and sex-roles in male homosexuals and heterosexuals. The sample of the study included 150 participants of which 75 (%50) were male homosexuals, and 75 (%50) were male heterosexuals. The average age of the homosexual group was 26.4, and the avarage age of the heterosexual group was 25.7. Research data were collected through Personal Information Form, Bem Sex Role Inventory Beck Depression Scale and Guilt-shame Scale. Result demonstrated that male homosexuals had significantly higher levels of depression and shame than male heterosexuals. There was no interaction effect of the sexual orientation and sex role on the level of depression and shame. However, in both groups androgynous individuals reported higher levels of guilt feelings.
