Özet
Bu çalışma, romandan televizyona yapılan uyarlamaları, örneklem olarak seçilen Fatih-Harbiye üzerinden incelemektedir. Uyarlama yapılırken hangi süreçlerden geçildiği, hangi uyarlama türünün ne şekilde kullanıldığı, uyarlamalarda ne gibi sorunlarla karşılaşıldığı araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca uyarlamalara yönelik izleyici beklentileri ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, geneli itibariyle metinlere uygulanan göstergebilimsel çözümleme yöntemi Fatih-Harbiye’nin 1990 ve 2013 yıllarında yapılan iki televizyon dizisine uygulanarak, uyarlamalar yapılırken nelere önem verildiği, hangi mesajların ne şekilde aktarıldığı, romanla diziler arasında ne gibi benzerlik ve farklılıkların var olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Çalışma, üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümde Fatih-Harbiye romanı ve eserin yazarı olan Peyami Safa anlatılmıştır. İkinci bölümde uyarlama kavramı, uyarlama türleri, süreçleri ve uyarlamada karşılaşılan sorunlar ile ilgili ayrıntılı bilgiler verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, uyarlamanın yöntem bölümü olan göstergebilimsel çözümleme anlatılmış ve Fatih-Harbiye uyarlamaları, göstergebilimsel çözümleme yöntemi kullanılarak konuyla ilgili yapılan anket çalışmasıyla da desteklenerek karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir.
An adaptation from a novel to television series is investigated using Fatih-Harbiye as an example in this study. The process of adaptation, the usage of different adaptations and the problems encountered in adaptation are also examined during the study. Additionally, the expectation of audience for the adapted series is found out. A semiotic analysis method which is normally used for text is employed in two different television series of Fatih-Harbiye established in 1990 and 2013. Similarly, the importance of adaptation, the transfer method used for ideas and the differences and similarities between the novels and the television series are presented. The thesis herein consists of three main sections. In the first section, Fatih-Harbiye novel and the writer of the novel are explained. In the second section, an adaptation concept, adaptation types, process and problems of adaptation are described in detail. A semiotic analysis which is a method used in adaptation is expressed in the last section. Finally, adaptations of Fatih-Harbiye are compared using the semiotic analysis method and the study is supported by survey employed on a group of people.
