Özet
Teknolojinin ve sanayinin hızla gelişmesi, plansız göçler ve nüfus artışının hızlanması gibi faktörler çevre sorunlarını beraberinde getirmiştir. Artan çevre sorunlarıyla birlikte alternatif ekonomik kalkınma yaklaşımları geliştirilmeye başlanmıştır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma yaklaşımı, ekolojik dengeyi bozmadan kalkınmanın gerçekleştirilmesini hedeflemektedir. Aynı zamanda bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri de ülkelerin kalkınmasının, rekabet gücünün ve genel olarak toplum refahının belirlenmesinde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedefleri ve bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin sağlamış olduğu faydalar birlikte değerlendirildiğinde, bu teknolojilerin sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya önemli katkılar sunduğu görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de dijital dönüşümün sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya olan etkilerinin ampirik olarak analiz edilmesini amaçlanmaktadır. Ampirik analizde 2000-2019 döneminde 36 OECD üyesi özelinde Tesadüfi Katsayılı Panel Veri Modeli kullanılmaktadır. Analiz sonucunda çevresel sürdürülebilirliğin ve dijital dönüşümün Türkiye’de sürdürülebilir kalkınma üzerinde pozitif etkilerinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
Factors such as the rapid development of technology and industry, unplanned migration, and population growth acceleration have brought environmental problems. With the increase of environmental problems, the development of alternative economic development approaches has started. The sustainable development approach aims to achieve development without disturbing the ecological balance. At the same time, information and communication technologies play an essential role in determining society's development, competitiveness, and welfare in general. When the sustainable development goals and the benefits of information and communication technologies are evaluated together, it is seen that these technologies make significant contributions to sustainable development. This study aims to empirically analyze the effects of digital transformation on sustainable development in Turkey. The Random Coefficient Panel Data Model is used for 36 OECD members in the 2000-2019 period in the empirical analysis. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that environmental sustainability and digital transformation positively affect sustainable development in Turkey.
