Effects of globalization on nation state and EU citizenship

Over the past few decades, globalization has become one of the most commonly used words in legal and political literature. Over the course of history globalization has been influenced by social and economic reasons, periods of development and stagnation occurred but in recent years the globalization movement has gained speed. Especially after 1980, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the USSR. enhanced political, technological and productive process and developments with the addition of increased multinational companies, the world has experienced a rapid globalization movement. The changes occurring in regard to politics and government have been the subject of citizenship arguments.

Küreselleşme son yıllarda gerek hukuk gerek siyaset literatüründe en çok kullanılan sözcüklerin başında gelmektedir, Tarih sürecinde küreselleşme, toplumsal ve ekonomik nedenlerden etkilenmiştir. Gelişim ve duraklama dönemleri yaşanmış, son dönemlerde ise küreselleşme akımı hız kazanmıştır. Özellikle 1980 sonrasında yaşanan Berlin Duvarının yıkılması ve SSCB'nin çöküşü gibi siyasi süreçlerin ardından teknolo1ik ve üretimse gelişimlerinin yanı sıra çok uluslu şirketlerin de artmasıyla dünya ciddi bir küreselleşme akımıyla karşı karşıya kalmıştır. Yaşanan değişimler siyaset ve yönetimle birlikte vatandaşlık anlayışının da tartışma konusu olmasına sebep olmuştur.
