dc.description.abstractSocial media is an indispensable function for university students to get informatlon about events and activities in big cities. Beyond getting information and interpersonal interaction, social media helps to publicize cultural and artistic events that help to develop social welfare of societies, Facebook is the most popular and mostly used social media tool and it is used for publicizing arts and cultural activities. ln this study, Facebook pages of four arts and culture institutions in izmir will be monitored and analyzed. izmir Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education, izmir State Opera and Balet, izmir Event Agency, izmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Centre and ızmir State Theatre's Facebook pages Will be analyzed with ethnography method. ln order t0 realize the study, the numbers of shares. likes and comments will be monitored. Besides the comments will be analyzed by content analysis and to enlighten the effect of Social media usage of the inslitutions university students'impressions will be obtained.en_US
