Özet
Felsefe alanında yaptığı önemli çalışmalarla tanınan Betül Çotuksöken 'in felsefe anlayışı, Kantçı anlamda aydınlanmadır. Onun anlayışı ontolojik ve antropolojik yaklaşımlara da açıktır. Çotuksöken'e göre insanın ana özelliklerinden biri kavram kurmaktır. İnsanın bu özelliği, onu sadece bilen bir özne olarak değil, somutbir bütünolarak görmeyi, dolayısıyla günümüz dünyasında karşılaşılan çeşitli sorunları felsefi açıdan ele almayı mümkün kılmaktadır. Çotuksöken'in sık sık ele aldığı bir konu eğitimdir. 0, kişiyi "dönüştürebilirilinekler toplamı" olarak görmekte; bu da onu "açık" bir eğitim idesine ve bu eğitimin gerekliliğini savunmaya götürmektedir.
Betül Çotuksöken's philosophical works are well-know in Turkey. Her conception of philosophy is that of the Enlightenmentin theKantian sense a conceptionwhich is also open to ontological and antbropological approaches. According to Çotuksöken, one of the main characteristics of the human being is producing concepts. This specificity of the human being makes possible to consider it not only as knowing subject, but as a concrete whole and consequently to look at various problems of our time from a philosophical view-point. One of the problem that she often deals with is education. She considers the human individual as "a totaIityof transformableaccidents" andthis leads herto the advocacy of the idea of an "open" educarion.
