dc.description.abstractGeleneksel ve çağdaş zihin felsefesinin tarihsel süreci içinde Antikçağdan beri birçok düşünür ruh/zihin-beden ilişkisine yönelik olarak çeşitli görüşler ortaya koyar. Aristoteles, Platon’da görülen ruh-beden ayrılığını ortadan kaldırarak, ruh ile bedeni bir tözün iki ayrı öğesi olarak ele alır. Ortaçağa gelindiğinde ruh-beden ilişkisine ilişkin belirlemeler tanrısallık ile aktarılır. Modern felsefenin kurucusu kabul edilen Descartes, benimsediği ikicilikle zihin-beden problemine yol açarak bunun günümüzde çeşitli disiplinlerce tartışılan bir konu olmasına önayak olur. Bilişsel bilimlerin doğmasıyla da başlarda sadece zihin felsefenin ana problemlerinden biri olan zihin-beden sorunu, giderek bilinç-beyin sorunu, bilişsel disiplinlerin de ana konusu haline gelir. Felsefenin önünü açtığı etkinlik alanları arasında bulunan yapay zekâ, bilişsel dilbilim, bilişsel psikoloji, bilişsel sinirbilim alanları, insan zihnini/bilincini anlamaya yönelik çalışmalarını farklı doğrultularda sürdürerek geliştirmeye çalışırlar. Zihin felsefesi ise zihnin ve bilincin yanı sıra yapay zekâ kavramına da ilişkin olarak irdelemelere girişirken daha çok yapay zekâya karşı bir duruş sergiler. Bu soruşturmalar ile, hayatımıza etki eden yapay zekânın neliği, olanaklılığı ve sınırları gibi konular açısından aydınlatılmasının önemi büyüktür.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn the historical process of the traditional and contemporary philosophy of mind, since ancient times, many philosophers have put forward various arguments with regard to the soul/mind-body connection. Aristotle eliminates Plato’s “mind-body distinction” and deals with the soul and the body as two different elements of the same essence. During the Middle Ages, all the identifications regarding the mind-body relation were relayed through divinity. Acknowledged as the founder of modern philosophy, Descartes, an adopter of dualism, makes way for the mind-body problem and therefore, generates an ongoing discussion among various disciplines. With the birth of the cognitive sciences, the mind-body problem, which was initially an issue of concern to the philosophy of mind only, has increasingly become the main topic of the consciousness-brain problem and cognitive disciplines as well. Being among the domains pioneered by philosophy; artificial intelligence, linguistics, psychology and neurology, have been conducting various studies in various ways so as to understand the human mind/consciousness. The philosophy of mind, on the other hand, maintains a stance against the artificial intelligence when it attempts to investigate the concept of artificial intelligence as well as mind and consciousness. With these investigations, it is significantly important to shed light on the artificial intelligence, which is affecting our lives, in terms of its entity, possibilities and limitations.en_US
