Özet
The purpose of this study is to make an attempt to change education by investigating teacher values and their influence on student study satisfaction. Study satisfaction is a crucial contributor to study achievement. what else can teachers do to make a better society by producing more successful students and professional citizens? We found out that student study satistaction strongly relies on the correlation between students' personal values and their perception oI teachers' values, ln order to be successful in this profession, the teacher candidates should accept the profession unconditionally. and practice it with love and passion. Teaching requires both cognitive competences such as knowledge and skill. and affective competences such as attitudes and behaviors. lt is necessary that teacher candidates should have certain values and attitudes regarding the profession, just as they should have certain knowledge. Values allow teachers to judge. shape their thoughts, attitudes and behaviors, So, in relation to the study significance, we formed the following research hypotheses: 1. We expect higher preference of such personal values as "Power, Security. and Family Relationships". 2. We expect most students' satisfaction with such teacher values as "Security, Achievement and Power'. 3. We expect moderate and gradual growth in study satisfaction. 4. The more students' personal values meet correlation with teachers' values. the higher study satisfaction they have. The data were collected through the use of 3 research methods, distributed to a sample of 100 students (teacher candidates) of land 3 year of study from Suleyman Demirel University, The firsI questionnaire - PersonaI Values lnventory Test indicated that most preferred personal values among Teacher Candidates are "Family Relationship, Service, lndependence, Adventure. Success and Security". Value Test by Schwartz and Student Study satisfaction questionnaire, adapted for our study. proved the hypotheses and demonstrated most students' satisfaction with such teacher values as "achievement. conformity. power. security, stimulation" Meanwhile, students' study satisfaction has dynamic character. in our study it has a declining trend. Consequently, student study satisfaction showed positive correlation between students' personal values and their perception of teacher values. Finally, teacher's attitude towards students was found the most demanding among sample participants. Teachers' attitudes towards their students significantly shape the level of expectations they hold for their students' learning, how they treat their students and what students ultimately learn. This may require considerab|e reflection and self-assessment for teachers. Therefore, teachers need to form students' values through modeling their own values. Thus, it shows that teachers need psycho-pedagogical training, where they can appropriately shape attitudes towards students and properly manage their tasks in schools. Such training means to both form and develop general competences and psycho- pedagogical competences, which includes the initial training of the teaching staff and the later improvement of this training. the continuing professional development respectively.
