| dc.description.abstract | The notion of Common Heritage of Mankind (CHM) implies all areas and resources, which are beyond the limits of national jurisdiction and belong to the entire world community. One of essential CHM areas is deep sea-bed, which possesses affluent deposits oI aluminum, nickel, cobalt, manganese copper, zinc and even of gold and silver. The first deposits on the bottom of the ocean were detected in the 19th century, but the idea to extract its resources emerged only in 1960-70's, when due to the lack ot technology and pendency of the seabed status postponed this event, Then in 1980's deep sea-bed was legally recognized as Common Heritage of Mankind by UN con vention, but a number of states have not ratified it.
