The individual may face temporary or permanent barriers to performing the functions required by daily life before the birth or during a certain period of his/her life after the birth; as a result, it can be diagnosed with a disability. In this process, the in-dividual identified with disability and the system elements around the individual (fami-ly, society, etc.) can be directly or indirectly affected by the disability. Difficulties expe-rienced due to the child's disability may affect acceptance level of the child's dis-ability and the child itself. It is thought that the social support perceived by the parent in over-coming the difficulties experienced in this process is important. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between parental acceptance/rejection status and perceived social support level in the context of disability, and the parental acceptance/rejection status of the disabled child from the child’s perspective in terms of some demographic variables. The sample group which was included as participants within the study was selected with the purposive sampling method. Children and their parents live in Mardin and Diyarbakır and receive special education at rehabilitation centers. The sample con-sisted of 101 parents with disabled child and 101 disabled children (child with a disabi-lity who is mentally advanced and capable of expressing itself and understanding). In this study, Demographic Information Form, Parental Acceptance-Rejection Sca-le/Control (Short Form) (Rohner, 2005), Child PARS/Control: Mother (Short Form) (Rohner, 2005), Child PARS/Control: Father (Short Form) (Rohner, 2005) and Multi-dimensional Perceived Social Support Scale were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data; descriptive analysis, dependent group t-test and independent group t-test, LSD technique from post hoc techniques, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson Correlation Analysis, as well as Regression analysis were performed to determine the ix relationship between the parent's acceptance/rejection with perceived social support level and whether the child’s perceived received parental acceptance / rejection has a mediating effect. In addition, a regression analysis was conducted to determine whether parents' ac-ceptance/rejection had a mediating effect on the relationship between the perceived social support level of the parents and their parents' acceptance/rejection status. As a result of the analyzes, the acceptance level of the mother was found to be higher than the acceptance level of the father and the perceived father acceptance level of the child was found higher than the acceptance level of the mother. The social sup-port level perceived by the mothers was higher than the social support level perceived by the fathers, and it was identified that as the education level of the parent increased, the level of perceived social support also increased. From the eyes of children diagno-sed with a disability, it was found that their parents' acceptance/rejection status and the social support level perceived by the parents were a significant mediator for the parents' acceptance/rejection status. In addition, it was found that the level of social support per-ceived by the parents and their parents' acceptance/rejection status had a significant me-diating effect on their acceptance/rejection status.
