Being two disjunct concepts on their own martyrdom and veteran-status (specifically ghazi-status quo pertaining to war/terror disabled Turkish veteran) have been addressed as a unique individual social reality within this thesis. Having existed throughout Türkiye's geography as an inseparable couple, always interbedded and unthinkable to be independent of each other, the social concept of martyrdom and ghazi-status in time has developed a character peculiar to the Turkish people. The aim of this thesis has been to try to understand the process whereby the socialized individual's (taken to be every Turk today) crucial, offending but nevertheless undeniable reality of martyrdom and ghazi-status turns into an aching, stinging and internally bleeding social bodily wound of modern Turkish society through tracking its scar marks along the way. Based on qualititave field survey this sociological study is the product of using purposive sampling, decoding of face to face interviews conducted with different work groups and interpreting the findings shedding light on thematic content analysis to build up on a grounded theory centered constitution and construction process. The main question of the study has been this sentence: As seen in its portrayal today where does the social reality of martyrdom and ghazi-status exclusive to the Turkish society fit in the overall political-cultural Turkish Islam framework drawn throughout the historical process? Within the context of this question, in order to scrutinize the various administrative dynamics of martial, judicial, religious and social dimensions to be taken into consideration in relation to the subject matter, in-depth interviews have been carried out between 2018 February - 2019 May within the study field of İstanbul, with a total number of 60 participants, fifteen of them a group made up of veterans and the close family members of both veterans and martyrs. As part of this study, the participants ideas and views on state and religion in general, on martyrdom and veteran-status in particular have been thoroughly inquired. At the end of the study martyrdom has emerged in the memory of today's Turkish society as a religion-based collectivity but as understood to be a state correlated nation (assignment/duty) martyrdom at collective consciousness level; although the ghazi-status in its intrinsic progress within the Turkish culture at large as the prior landing gear attributable to Turkish Islam is anticipatable as the "much more Turkish" to be far more internalized by the Turkish society, because of the social apparency/visibility problematical it faces today, the ghazi-status was explored in ways unclear and unacountable for and was duly interpreted from a social scientific perpective.
