Özet
Bu tez çalışması kapsamında ferdi yaratıcılığın sınırlarını zorlayarak ‘‘öteki’’ yönetmenlerden farklı olmuş ve eserleriyle dünya sinemasında sayılan nitelikli bir yer edinmiş James Cameron ile Guillermo Del Toroseçilmiştir. Yönetmenlerin eserlerinde ortaya koyduğu ayrıştırıcı biçim ve içerik özellikleri ile oluşturduğu bireysel üslubları, pek çok kişide hayranlık bırakmıştır. Yönetmenlerin Auteur Kuramı perspektifinden bakılırken bu kuramın gelişmesinde etkili olan eleştiriler ve tartışmalar da göz önünde bulundurulmuştur. Bu bağlamda kuram temel açıdan yönetmenin teknik üslubunu belirleyen ögelere odaklanarak var ettikleri dünya görüşlerinin etkileri ile eserlerinde izleyicilerine yansıttıkları verilerin alıcı tarafından anlamlandırılmasına dair yaklaşımları bünyesinde taşımaktadır. Yönetmenlerin toplum ve tarih verilerine bakış açıları, modern topluma getirdikleri eleştiriler, oluşturulmuş karakterlerinin yapısı, kullanılan metaforlar, filmin önemli bir birrimi olan kurguya yaklaşımları, renkler ile mekân üzerine geliştirdiği bütünleşik düşünceler, kişiselkillerinin filme aktarımı, filmlerinde işlenen öykülerin ayrıştırıcı yanlarıyla birlikte filmografilerinin özgün ve tema bütünlüğü, senaryo yazımında yer almaları, filmlerine özlerinden kattıkları, yapımcılığını ve yönetmenliğini üstlendiği uzun metraj filmler göz önünde bulundurularak karşılaştıma içeren bir analiz yapılmaya çalışılmıştır.
Within the scope of this thesis, James Cameron and Guillermo Del Toro, who have been different from the "other" directors by pushing the limits of individual creativity and have gained a qualified place in world cinema with their works, were chosen. The distinctive form and content features of the directors in their works and the individual styles they created have left many people in awe. While looking from the perspective of the directors' Auteur Theory, the criticisms and debates that were effective in the development of this theory were also taken into consideration. In this context, the theory basically embodies the approaches to the recipient's interpretation of the data they reflect to the audience in their works, with the effects of the world views they create by focusing on the elements that determine the technical style of the director. The directors' perspectives on society and historical data, the criticism they brought to modern society, the structure of their characters, the metaphors used, their approach to editing, which is an important unit of the film, the integrated thoughts they developed on colors and space, the transfer of their personalities to the film, the distinctive aspects of the stories in their films, as well as the original and thematic aspects of their filmography. It has been tried to make a comparative analysis by taking into account the integrity of the feature films, their participation in the scriptwriting, the fact that they added their essence to their films, and the feature films that they produced and directed.
