dc.description.abstract“Kötülük” olgusu, kötülüğü kötü niyetlerle açıklayan köklü bir felsefi geleneğin başlıca soruşturma alanlarından biri olmuştur. Bu tezde cevabı araştırılan sorular ise “insanları insanlar olarak gereksiz kılmak”la ilişkilendirdiği radikal kötülüğü çetrefil bir sorun olarak gören ve neredeyse bütün felsefi söyleminin odağına yerleştiren Hannah Arendt’in düşünceleri etrafında şekillenmiştir. Auschwitz’in “her şeyi mümkün kılan” gerçekliği karşısında kötülüğe direnmeyi başarabilen bir avuç insanda gördüğü “başkasının bakış açısından düşünme” ve “bağımsız yargılarda bulunma” yeteneği üzerinde duran Arendt, zamanımızda –kötülükle birlikte? bireysel sorumluluğun anlamını da yeniden sorgulamak gerektiğini hatırlatmıştır. Arendt’in kötülük yapmakta rolü olan niyetliliğin anlamına ilişkin eleştirel yaklaşımı ve “kötülüğün sıradanlığı” fenomeni etrafında geliştirilebilecek düşünceler, ?niyetle ilgili kavramsal boşlukları giderme iddiası taşımadığı halde? yirminci yüzyıl kötülüğüne cevap vermede dikkate alınmalıdır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe phenomenon of “evil” has been one of the main fields of research of a well?established philosophical tradition which explains evil with evil will. The questions, answers of which were investigated in this thesis, were shaped around the thoughts of Hannah Arendt, who saw radical evil which she associated to “making people unnecessary as people” as a complicated problem and placed it to the focus of almost her entire philosophical discourse. Arendt, who emphasized the ability “to think from the other’s point of view” and “to make independent judgments” saw in a handful of people who could manage to stand up to evil in face of the reality of Auschwitz which “made everything possible”, in our time, ?along with evil? reminded that the meaning of individual responsibility should be re?questioned as well. Arendt’s critical approach to the meaning of intentionality which has a role in doing evil and the thoughts that could be developed around the phenomenon “banality of evil” ?although it does not claim to eliminate conceptual gaps about intentionality? should be taken into consideration in responding to the twentieth?century evil.en_US
