dc.description.abstractSinemada oryantalist etki farklı yönetmenler düzeyinde birçok araştırmaya konu edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın başlıca amaçlarından biri oryantalizmin felsefi ve tarihsel köklerini aramak ve günümüzdeki etkilerini izlemek olmuştur. Yönetmenin kadrajıyla gösterdiği ve dışarıda bıraktığı imgeler politik ve kültürel anlamda zengin materyaller sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma ilkin antik dönemden modern döneme kadar ötekilik probleminin dönüşümlerini incelemiştir. Ardından 19. yüzyıldan sonra akademik bir kimliğe bürünmüş olan oryantalizm kavramının işlerlik alanları betimlenmiştir. Son olarak Ferzan Özpetek’in Hamam, Harem Suare ve İstanbul Kırmızısı adlı filmleri görsel analiz ve söylem analizi yöntemleriyle incelenmiş ve oryantalizm ve sinema arasındaki ilişkiler gösterilmek istenmiştiren_US
dc.description.abstractOrientalist implications of cinema have so far been the subject of many studies that analyzed the works of various directors. One of the main purposes of this study is to look for the philosophical and historical roots of orientalism and to observe its effects on our contemporary world. The images that the director captures or excludes out of the frame offers rich political and cultural materials. This study focuses firstly on the transformations of the problem of otherness from antiquity to modernity. Second, this study describes the impact areas of orientalism, a concept that acquired an academic identity beginning from the19th century. Lastly, Ferzan Özpetek’s Hamam, Harem Suare, and Istanbul Kırmızısı are examined through methods of visual analysis and discourse analysis in order to demonstrate the relationships between orientalism and cinema.en_US
