Abstract
ln times of increasing use of social media, lines between different forms of political, participation become blurry. While research nowadays mainly focuses on forms of political participation online the question rises, if there is a dilference between the diverse activities concerning their impact for the society as well as the political process and the motivations to carry them out. Some of these forms are merged under the terms lacktivism, a simple way of participation, mainly performed via social network sites and without high risk nor high costs for the users. This new form of online participation therefore faces criticism, e.g. by Morozov in 2009 who defined slacktivism as "feelgood online activism that has zero political or social impact" He describes the illusion of actually changing something with nothing more than a Facebook like...
