Özet
Bu araştırma, okul çocuklarının güvenli olmayan besinlerden kaynaklanan sağlık sorunlarını ve annelerinin besin güvenliği hakkında bilgi ve uygulamalarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, 409 anneden oluşmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri, Çocuğu ve Aileyi Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu; Annelerin Besin Güvenliği Hakkında Bilgi ve Uygulamalarını Belirleme Formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Veriler; frekans, yüzde ve Ki-kare analizi ile incelenmiştir. İstatistiksel anlamlılık için p<0.05 kabul edilmiştir. Annelerin çoğunluğunun 31-40 yaş (%74,0) grubunda; lise mezunu (%41,0) ve ev hanımı (%70,9) olduğu belirlenmiştir. Annelerin çoğunluğunun (%80,9) besin güvenliğine ilişkin bilgilerinin olduğu; bu bilgileri çoğunlukla (%49,1) aile büyüklerinden öğrendikleri ve sadece %38,6'sının bu bilgileri tamamen uyguladıkları belirlenmiştir. Annelerin büyük çoğunluğu (%98,0) besinlerdeki tarım ilacı kalıntılarının zararlı olduğunu belirtmiştir. Çocukların hiçbirinde herhangi bir kronik hastalığın olmadığı ve %11,7'sinin daha önce beslenme kaynaklı sağlık sorunu yaşadığı belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda, toplumun her kesiminde, besin güvenliği konusunda farkındalık yaratılması ve toplumun bilgilendirilmesi önerilmiştir.
This research was conducted in order to determine Health problems resulting from insecure foods in school children and knowledge and applications of mothers concerning food safety. Sample of the research was comprised of 409 mothers. Data of the research was collected using Descriptive Survey of The Child and The Family and Determination Survey of Knowledge and Applications of Mothers Concerning Food Safety. Data was evaluated as frequency and percentage and using Chi-square analysis. For statistical significance, p<0.05 was accepted. It was determined that majority of the mothers were at 31-40 years of age group (74,0%), high school graduate (41,0%) and housewives (70,9%). It was also determined that majority of mothers (80,9%) have knowledge concerning food safety, they had learned this knowledge primarily (49.1%) from family elders and only 38,6% of them was applying this knowledge. Majority of mothers (98,0%) declared that pesticide remnants in foods were harmful. It was determined that none of the children had a chronic illness and 11.7% of them had food-borne health problems previously. In light of these results, creation of awareness and informing about food safety at all levels of society have been recommended.
