dc.description.abstractAccording to an old Cherokee story there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is evil. The other is good. And the wolf which wins is simply the one we feed. lt seems that we are feeding the wrong wolf through our educational systems that promote an unhealthy competition between children. For a child, success - whether academic or non academic- is synonymous of stability, happiness and a promising future of conquests and achievements. On the other hand, dropping out of school means a social exclusion, a vanishment of all the dreams and a precocious psycho-social death...en_US
dc.description.abstractEski bir Cherokee hikayesine göre hepimizin içinde iki kurt arasında bir savaş var. Biri kötü. Diğeri ise iyi. Ve kazanan kurt sadece beslediğimiz kurt. Görünen o ki biz eğitim dönemi boyunca yanlış kurtu besledik ve çocuklar arasında sağlıksız bir rekabeti destekledik. Bir çocuk için başarı -akademik veya akademik dışı- denge, mutluluk ve gelecek vaat eden fetihler ve başarılar ile eş anlamlıdır. Diğer yandan okulu bırakmak, sosyal dışlanma, bütün hayallerin yok olması ve erken gelişen psiko-sosyal olum anlamına geliyor.
