Kimya eğitimi alanında yanlış anlamalarla ilgili olarak yapıIan çalışmalar incelendiğinde bazı kimya konuları üzerinde çok sayıda çalışma yapılmışken, bazı konularda ya çok az sayıda veya hiçbir çalışma yapılmadığı ve yapılan çalışmaların çoğunun lise öğrencileri üzerinde yürütüldüğü görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada. kimya öğretmen adaylarının asitler ve bazlarla ilgili sahip olabilecekleri yanlış anlamalar ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Örneklem olarak KTÜ Fatih Eğitim Fakültesi Kimya Ögretmenliği Programında öğrenim gören 40 dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi seçilmiştir. Bu amaçla öğrencilere l2'si çoktan seçmeli, 8'i ise açık uçlu sorudan oluşan 20 soruluk bir test uygulanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesi sonucu kimya öğretmen adaylarının asit ve bazlarla ilgili olarak lise öğrencilerinin sahip olduklarına benzer kavram yanılgılarına sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara dayalı olarak bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
A review of research related to misconceptions in chemistry reveals that while in some areas of chemistry many studies were conducted in some others there were only a few or no studies. Moreover many of the studies were conducted with high school students rather that other levels. In this study students teachers understandings and misconceptions about acids and bases were aimed at to be determined. The subject of this research was 40 student teachers in their fourth year in the chemistry division of Fatih Faculty of Education at KTU. With this aim the subjects were implemented a multiple choice test which consists of 20 items 8 of multiple choice items. As a result it was found that student teachers have misconceptions about acids and bases similar to that of high school students. According to the results some recommendations were made.
