The role of Germany's ontological security through friendship in the development of ESDP after the end of the cold war

This paper focuses on the continent's security architecture after the end of the Cold War looking from the perspective of Germany's institutional meta-preferences, and provides a social constructivist answer to why states were motivated to invest in the European Security and Defence Policy (ESOP). The social constructivist response this paper provides is based on the processes of estrantement and emancipation and the concept of the social ontology of friendship.
